Flexible stone customization is a systematic process involving multiple stages, from needs analysis to the final product. Each step requires professional expertise and meticulous planning. The following is a typical customization process:

1. Needs Communication and Design Planning: The customization process begins with detailed communication between the user and the design team or manufacturer to clarify application scenarios, functional requirements, aesthetic preferences, and budget. For example, in interior design, flexible stone might be needed for wall coverings, flooring, or furniture surfaces. The design team will provide preliminary designs based on this information, including material selection, color matching, and texture design. This stage may involve sample production to allow the user to experience the effect firsthand.

2. Material Formulation and Sample Production: Based on the design plan, technicians adjust the flexible stone formula. Different proportions of stone powder and polymer affect the hardness, flexibility, and appearance of the finished product. For example, increasing the stone powder content can enhance the stone-like feel but may reduce flexibility; conversely, increasing the polymer ratio makes the material softer. After sample production, performance tests are conducted, such as abrasion resistance, UV resistance, and environmental indicators, to ensure compliance with standards.

3. Digital Modeling and Mold Making: For complex shapes or patterns, computer-aided design (CAD) software is often used to create a three-dimensional model. The model data is used to create custom molds. The mold material can be silicone, metal, or composite materials, depending on the production scale and precision requirements. This step ensures the accuracy and consistency of the finished product, especially for mass customization.

4. Production and Processing: In a controlled environment, the mixed materials are injected into the mold and shaped through heating, pressurizing, or curing processes. After molding, surface treatments such as polishing, embossing, or coating are applied to enhance aesthetics and durability. Quality control is crucial during the production process, including checking dimensional tolerances, color uniformity, and defect repair.

5. Installation and Maintenance Guidance: Custom flexible stone usually comes with installation guidelines and maintenance recommendations. Due to its flexibility, special adhesives or fastening systems may be used during installation, eliminating the need for heavy tools. For maintenance, it is generally recommended to clean regularly with a soft cloth and avoid scratching with sharp objects to extend its lifespan.
